Does anybody know anything about The Roots' taping policy?
I would love to see them on here.
I'm usually not into rap at all, but they did a show here at my college (Emory) last fall, and they blew me away. It's smart rap that actually has a message, and the guys who play the instruments are also all quite talented.

I don't know of an official taping policy, but you can get some shows off of "therootslive.com". They are all pretty sick shows on there, and the roots released an album called "the roots come alive" which is a live show that is AMAZING! That website has some free, good quality shows though.

Michael Franti and Spearhead... Some great concerts. you should check'm out. The fillmore concert (january 15 2005) is a very good recording feauturing some of the best spearhead tracks. There not all hip hop, but there are some classic hip hop tracks on that recording (We don't stop, Stay Human, Oh my god and even a track from chocolate super highway)
